چکیده
Butanol is a sustainable carbon–neutral fuel that can be derived from variety of biomass resources. It potentially used as an alternative to blend with diesel decrease greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions. In this paper, three butanol isomers (n-butanol, tert-butanol, iso-butanol) are blended in various volume ratios. The combustion characteristics experimentally determined constant vessel under engine-like conditions. effects ratio, chamber temperature, pressure on ignition delay process investigated. shown the decreases at high temperature low ratio regardless isomer type. butanol/diesel blends differ neat butanol. Both heat release (LTHR) (HTHR) observed for isomers/diesel blends. Under current operating conditions, isomer/diesel ordered according iso-butanol > n-butanol tert-butanol. Notwithstanding its higher octane number, tert-butanol/diesel show fastest LTHR thereafter shortest delay. This because absence H atom alpha carbon which contributes consumption OH radicals. Consequently, oxidation less suppressed. However, HTHR much slower than n-butanol/diesel. At 80% required improve reactivity ignition. Overall, beneficial applied engines increase fuel/air mixing time so attenuate soot

The aim of this study is to evaluate a heavy duty diesel engine operation under reactivity controlled compression ignition combustion fueled with diesel oil and natural gas enriched with hydrogen and nitrogen addition. In this study, a single cylinder heavy– duty diesel engine is set to operate at 9.4bar gross IMEP (Mid- Load). The amount of injected diesel oil per cycle into the engine combust...
متن کاملEnvironmental effects of using Methanol as a biofuel into the combustion chamber of a heavy-duty diesel engine
Methanol as a biofuel is an environmentally friendly substitute for pure diesel and can be obtained from biomasses. The use of biofuels such as methanol for the combustion process is associated with positive impacts on the environment. Using pure methanol or a blend of diesel/methanol fuel in motorized vehicles has been proposed by researchers. In this paper, pure methanol was injected into the...
